Welcome to Alabama Cancer Center
Your Local Hematology/Oncology Clinic
As a new patient with our facility you should expect smiling faces and open arms because once you enter our clinic you become family. First thing first, once your Physician refers you to our clinic you should receive our New Patient Packet in the mail within a couple of days. It will Include an appointment reminder, new patient paperwork, our prescription policy and a survey for you to let us know how your experience was.
Once you arrive to your appointment you will sign in and the receptionist will ask you for your new patient paperwork, driver’s license, insurance cards and list of your medications. Our receptionist will enter all your information in our Electronic Health Record System. After we have entered your information you will be called back to be triaged and placed in an exam room to be seen by one of our Board-Certified Physicians. During your appointment with our physician, together with your opinion a treatment plan will be planned for your specific case.
After your visit with the physician, if your plan includes having any infusion you will be introduced to our infusion clinic nurses. At that time your summary of plan will be sent to our insurance department to have your plan approved by your insurance company. Once it is approved your medication will be ordered and once it is received you will be called to schedule your appointment. If your treatment plan does not include any infusions, you will be sent back to our receptionist to get your follow up appointments.
We at Alabama Cancer Care hope that you have a pleasant experience for your first visit and would like to say thank you for trusting us with your care.
